The Protective Role of Scoparia Dulcis Linn. in Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that appears simultaneously with age. AD caused by oxidative stress, which generates the oxidation of biomolecules such as DNA, proteins, and lipids. The present study aimed to evaluate protein lipid protection against damage free radical anticholinesterase properties Scoparia dulcis, are relevant therapy. Furthermore, phytochemical profiling S. dulcis extract was also observed. Quantitative (phenolic, flavonoid tannin contents) analysis methanol, butanol, ethyl acetate fraction substances in performed standard spectrophotometric methods. Butanolic extracts showed maximum amounts phytochemicals, including phenolics, flavonoids, tannins. butanolic highest acetylcholinesterase potential inhibition DPPH scavenging, IC50 values 93.24 22.8 μg/mL, respectively, dose-dependent manner. Additionally, butanol exhibited strong FeSO4-induced peroxidation inhibition. best free-radical-induced inhibitory activity observed methanol samples. In conclusion, this suggests agent for drug development AD.
